Happy Friday you lovely lot!
As it was #internationalwomensday yesterday I felt it was appropriate to share one of my features. If you follow me on insta you may have already seen and read this (thank you if you have!)
International Women’s Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women and there was certainly a lot of love, strength and #girlpower shown yesterday. We still have a way to go in some areas but I think the fact that women feel they can step outside their comfort zones, speak out and push boundaries proves we are getting somewhere. Reading some women’s journeys and experiences yesterday was extremely thought-provoking and inspiring.
I particularly enjoy reading about how women are no longer sitting and waiting for their turn, but making a go of it themselves – setting up businesses or communities that they are extremely passionate about and I think this attitude is contagious. Which is just fab!
Recently I was asked to share my experience of setting up a business and what it means and feels to be a female founder. I was interviewed by Nia of niafaraway.com for her blog and her Female Founder Series. There are some truly remarkable women on there so def check it out! Nia has an eclectic website featuring a whole platform of information on health + wellbeing, business, beauty, adventures and everything in between. Nia describes the blog as providing ‘nutritious bites of information that may help readers make more informed decisions about their lifestyles, or simply serve as an entertaining read.’
Now, I’m just a girl from a small town in the Lakes with some BIG ideas. I’m very honoured Nia asked me to share my experience. I don’t plan on changing the world but I do hope to inspire and motivate so I wanted to share this article. To all the woman out there – keep being you and doing what you do. If you believe in something strongly – speak out and action it. I can guarantee you won’t be alone. We are certainly stronger together. I think it’s also important to shout out to all the men who support women for who they are, what they stand for and everything they can become.
Grab a brew and a biccie (or two – it’s quite long!) and I hope you enjoy the article.
With love,
Lianne x
