Good morning one and all!

I smell Spring…or is that next doors compost heap? Anyway….Spring or not I have a delightful treat in store for you today with our first GUEST POST up on the blog. (Yaaaaas!)

As a wedding planner I like to reach out to many companies, brands and suppliers to ensure my knowledge is up to speed so I can advise you guys on the best choices for you. Now as we move into warmer climes our minds start wandering to sandy beaches, palm trees and coconuts (hmm pina coladas…) Holiday season and so therefore Honeymoon season.

Now, organising a wedding is a huge task and time consuming so damn right you deserve a break once you’re happily wedded.  However planning a honeymoon and paying for a honeymoon may not be the best option quite yet….. I’ve invited the dynamic duo (Helen and Berwyn) behind Taffi Campers to explain why they champion the mini-moon.  Taffi Campers is a small family-run camper van business based between Wales and London – perfect for the city folk looking for a quick and easy hit of fresh air and nature. With a slogan like ‘The Adventure’s On Us’  I know you’re dying to find out more!

Over to you Helen and Bez….

We totally get it! You’re in the middle of planning the wedding of your dreams…and they don’t always come cheap. Your mum wants you to invite 3 of her old school friends…and their partners that you’ve never met and Auntie Pam has got a new boyfriend, with 4 children that you need to factor in too. THEN you have to think of the honeymoon, which needs to be the most incredible few weeks of relaxation, adventure and pure marital bliss. Then life comes screaming back down to reality and you are supposed to pick yourself up and carry on after a whole of year of planning. I’ve heard of post holiday blues but post wedding blues are definitely a thing too! Not to mention trying to fund a wedding and essentially the biggest holiday of your lifetime all in the space of a few weeks of each other.

TIME TO TAKE A BREATHER…

Have you thought that maybe a quiet little getaway after the wedding, just you and your love,  out on the open road with the wind in your hair might be exactly what you need? Nothing lets you escape from the chaos like a roadtrip! That space away that really allows you to have some quality time with the person you can’t wait to spend the rest of your life with, without the pressure of finances or time. More and more people are planning mini-moons now to give them that post wedding chill out and then saving towards a “proper” honeymoon for a later date. That bit of extra time to give you something incredible to look forward to after your special day so it’s not all over in the blink of an eye. AND also gives you some time to save those pennies.

So you can finally kiss goodbye to post wedding blues.

We thought you may like to see an idea that we have had for a mini moon on the coast in South Wales.

A Mini Moon in South Wales – 5 days of sea air and good times.

Day One – Heading West

Pick up your Taffi Camper from Pontypridd (just outside Cardiff) and travel along the coast towards Swansea. In an hour you will be at Three Cliffs Bay. Park up at the stunning Three Cliffs Bay Campsite right on the waters edge, grab a bottle of chilled fizz from the fridge and watch the sun go down over the lapping waves. The perfect way to toast married life and the beginning of this new adventure together.

Day Two – Three Cliffs Bay, Gower

Cook yourself the breakfast of champions and head to Three Cliffs Bay for a stroll along the beach to blow away those cobwebs and take in all that fresh air. This area of the Gower has been voted as one of the most dramatic landscapes in the UK. It was also designated as Britain’s first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in 1956, with varied landscapes from marshes, woodland, cliffs and beaches. If you need inspiration for a walk you can check some out here. After your walk head back to camp, freshen up and head out for an epic pub dinner at The Cliff and back to camp for another view of the sun setting over the coastline. With a bottle of bubbles, of course!

Day Three – Caswell Bay and Rhossili Bay, Gower

Right you’ve had a good old unwind…now it’s time for a bit of excitement with your spouse. Am I right? What about learning to surf together? Yeah, sounds awesome I hear you say!

Right, so it’s time to pack up and move on to the next destination – Caswell Bay where you will have a morning couples surf lesson with Gower Surfing Shop. After you’ve mastered the waves it’s time to head back along the coast to Rhossili Bay. Pitch up at Hillend Campsite and head out or the afternoon and a gentle stroll. Watch the sunset over the bay and then head back to The Kings Head for your evening meal.

(P.S. Even Countryfile are with us on this one.)

Day Four – Tenby

Another epic breakfast required this morning… it is your holiday after all. Then pack up and head further along the coast for around an hour and a half until you reach Tenby.  A vibrant, and beautiful walled seaside town. Park up for your last night at Kiln Park Campsite. Have a pootle around this gorgeous little town, pop in to the local shops and grab yourself a  coffee and slice of cake. If you need any inspiration on where to eat here check out this fantastic blog from The Culture Trip.

Day Five – Homeward Bound

Head off from Tenby for a beautiful coastal drive back to our HQ and head home feeling refreshed, energised and ready for life.

We would love to help you plan your trip and inspire you to take some well earned ME TIME after your wedding. Just give us a shout and we will be right there to give you the helping hand. And if you enjoyed this blog we have our own blog site that you can check out too.

But for now Happy Wedding Planning (hopefully you’ll be leaving this down to the lovely Lianne at Blonde Army whilst you enjoy the exciting times to come).

Lots of love,

Helen and Bez
