Last week I had the incredible opportunity to join the renowned Wild Ones Community as the stylist on their latest portfolio builder. (Find out more about Wild Ones here, founded and run by Nicola Dixon Photography)
The shoot took place at the stunning and exclusive venue The Compton Gallery in the Cotswolds. By day an art gallery but also a private, luxury location for celebrations, events and weddings. To compliment the iconic, natural Cotswold stone, we worked to a muted colour palette of soft whites, sage, desaturated greens and sand.
Working alongside Sasha of Sass Flower who was creating some insane floral installations (yes THAT shoot) I wanted to keep the table scape clean, classy and finished with luxury details. It was such an honour and a pleasure to work alongside Sasha as we really bounced off each other. We definitely share a forward-thinking vision and our working vibe just aligned – which really helped the design concept feel cohesive and thorough.
Table Design
To create the table and working to the brief of ‘timeless elegance’, I opted for linen in Gelato Caramello from 88Events to keep it soft against the natural Cotswold stone. The Isla plates, Eden cutlery and Elizabeth glassware provided by Whitehouse Crockery kept the look clean and elegant whilst adding interest and shape.
315Press provided sage menus and semi-circle escort cards as well as gold foil personalised napkins for the ultimate luxe detail. We added small stones to help ground the floral stands but it also helped to ground the design within it’s environment. To finish the table I added 3 different shape and tone of candles from Ester and Erik to work in harmony with the florals. I always advise using different shapes and textures, especially in a more monotone palette, as it really helps to add depth and that luxury edge.
Welcome Sign & Table Plan
Using acrylic and vinyl for the table plan and welcome sign brought a modern edge to the natural setting. I love using clean and clear structures to contrast against the natural backdrop but still allow the nature and light to flood though. All items featured below are available for hire in The Collection.
Ceremony Styling
Sass Flower created an epic backdrop to which I scattered pillar candles throughout to add softness and that golden hour glow. The white bentwood chairs provided by Wedhead helped us achieve a modern feel in a rustic setting. They are my faves!
Lounge Area Styling
The lounge seating by Wedhead is beautiful and suitable in its own right. I’m a big believer of not distracting but adding to what is already available to you. Sasha created a small installation to create a flow of consistency throughout the various styled areas, and I added the glass lanterns and a simple orchid to finish. Less really is more here.
If you are wanting to create something that little bit extraordinary for your wedding or event, then I’d love to chat ideas with you. I have a range of services to suit all kinds of celebrations, from epic to intimate.
Let’s start the conversation…
